Author David Greenberger interviewed many elderly people on a wide range of subjects: Halloween, children, dinosaurs, the sixites, vampires... recording their comments which are variably wise, confused, hilarious, disjointed and sharp. Hesitant to call it it oral history, he claims that there is an essential truth about a person in what is remembered in later life. The old were young once, and the young will become old - there's no stopping it, ageing and decline are just part of the deal. He suggests we get used to the idea.
