Rebel Moon: Anarchist Rants And Poems

Manufacturer: AK Press

Product Information

Norman Nawrocki's riotous first book, Rebel Moon : Anarchists Rants And Poems, allows this international cabaret artist and activist to let loose a collection of dangerous poems and forbidden words on paper.

As frontman/bigmouth for Montreal's acclaimed anarcho "rebel news orchestra", Rhythm Activism, Nawrocki's powerful spoken word pieces are known worldwide through the band's 30 releases and thousands of live shows across Canada, the USA and Europe. Much of his material has been used to help organise and empower audiences around specific issues of social injustice.

Rebel Moon samples the best of this work from 1986-1996, including pieces like the anti-landlord 'Squat of London'; the dreamlike '7-11 Heaven' and the pro-choice 'Soldiers For Jesus'.

As always, Nawrocki offers biting social critiques backed up by an anarchist alternative: a vision of a world without bosses, the State, lousy lovers or supermarket ripoffs. And he doesn't hesitate to translate popular, direct action solutions into hardcore poetics.
